The number of VSAT subscribers increased 1.87 percent to 225,602 in September 2014 from 221,453 in June 2014, said TRAI.
Net addition during the quarter was 4,149.
Hughes Communication is leading the Indian VSAT market with subscriber base of 96,024 and 42.56 share. Bharti Airtel is in the second position with 23.9 percent share.
Tatanet Services is the third largest VSAT service provider with 14.3 percent share, while HCL Comnet has 9.09 percent and BSNL has 7.28 percent share.
Infinium India has recorded maximum growth rate, whereas HCL Comnet, Infotel Satcom and Essel Shyam have registered negative growth in VSAT subscribers in this quarter, said TRAI.
