Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) has emerged as a critical broadband solution for residential and enterprise connectivity, driven by ease of deployment and the expanded availability of 4G LTE and 5G Sub-6GHz networks.

According to Dell’Oro Group, total FWA revenues, encompassing RAN equipment, residential CPE, and enterprise router and gateway revenues, are set to grow by 7 percent in 2024, supported by residential subscriber increases in North America and India, alongside expanding branch office connectivity globally.

Spending on 4G and 5G-enabled residential CPE is expected to peak at $5.3 billion in 2025, remaining above $4 billion annually thereafter.

FWA, initially a tool to monetize under-utilized spectrum, is now a major broadband enabler for homes and businesses, with adoption spreading from the US to regions including India, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

Equipment revenue forecasts for 2023–2027 have been revised upward by 17 percent, reflecting strong subscriber growth, particularly in emerging markets across Southeast Asia and MEA, where upgrades to 3G and LTE networks offer economical connectivity solutions.

Satellite broadband, particularly from LEOS providers like Starlink, OneWeb, and Project Kuiper, will play a vital role in extending connectivity to rural and underserved areas where traditional infrastructure is either unavailable or prohibitively expensive.
