Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has revealed the latest market share of top wireless operators in India in May 2017.
India had 1,180.82 million wireless subscribers in May 2017 as compared with 1,174.6 million in April, registering a monthly growth of 0.53 percent.
Bharti Airtel has 23.59 percent share in India wireless market. Vodafone India has 17.86 percent share. Idea Cellular has 16.62 percent share. Reliance Jio has 9.94 percent share in India’s wireless market.
The wireless subscriber base in urban areas increased to 676.65 million (+0.17 percent) from 675.48 million. TRAI said wireless subscription in rural areas increased to 504.18 million (+1.01 percent) from 499.12 million.
India’s wireless tele-density increased from 91.34 to 91.74. Urban wireless tele-density increased from 167.21 to 167.24. Rural wireless tele-density increased from 56.59 to 57.12. TRAI said the share of urban and rural wireless subscribers in total number of wireless subscribers was 57.3 percent and 42.7 percent respectively.
