Keysight Technologies, Anritsu, JDSU, Rohde & Schwarz and Spirent Communications are some of the key T&M vendors in the Indian telecom market. Top telecom operators in India include BSNL, MTNL, Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular, Vodafone, Reliance Communications, Tata Docomo, Aircel, Uninor, etc.

The report noted that the need for compatibility of test equipment is the focus of T&M equipment vendors when developing new products. The evolving technology has made the product lifecycle of T&M equipment short, thereby requiring new T&M equipment to test new technology.

One of the main drivers in the Indian T&M market is the increase in R&D investment. Growth potential and low manufacturing costs help to bring more technological innovations through continuous R&D.

Customers in the market are price conscious and tend to purchase low-priced T&M equipment at the expense of quality and added features.

Since India government is aggressively building its Make in India program to bring more investment, several smartphone vendors such as Spice and Samsung recently announced their plans to invest in manufacturing devices in the country. Make in India program has the potential to boost T&M market.
