MegaFon Tajikistan is accelerating network modernization through upgrades to 47 base stations, expanded LTE coverage and improvements to its fiber transport infrastructure. The operator has also strengthened VoLTE capabilities, enhancing voice quality and service reliability for customers. The modernization program forms part of a broader effort to increase network capacity and prepare infrastructure for future traffic growth and next-generation technologies. Fiber expansion is strengthening the transport layer behind the mobile network, while LTE improvements are aimed at delivering faster and more consistent connectivity. MegaFon Tajikistan is also planning additional 4G upgrades, including the deployment of 4T4R technology at 150 base stations. The investment highlights the operator’s focus on improving network performance, coverage and readiness for future 5G development.
BSNL and Vodafone Idea Explore Deeper Network Sharing as ₹77,000 Crore Expansion Plan Takes Shape
BSNL and Vodafone Idea are exploring deeper infrastructure sharing across 4G and 5G networks as the state-owned operator advances a proposed ₹77,000 crore capital expenditure plan over five years. The discussions cover greater use of towers, fiber, spectrum and other network assets, with potential collaboration also extending to data centers, artificial intelligence and cloud services. BSNL already leases tower infrastructure to Vodafone Idea, while fiber sharing has begun through BharatNet infrastructure. The Department of Telecommunications is encouraging broader cooperation to reduce infrastructure duplication, optimize capital expenditure, expand coverage and accelerate 5G rollout. BSNL plans to add around 200,000 4G sites, while the proposed sharing framework could help both operators improve network efficiency and strengthen connectivity without duplicating infrastructure.

ARABSAT and Libya Telecom Partner to Expand Satellite Connectivity
ARABSAT and Libya Telecom and Technology (LTT) have signed a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening satellite communications and digital connectivity across Libya. Under the agreement, ARABSAT will provide High Throughput Satellite capacity through Arabsat-6A at 30.5 degrees East to support LTT’s existing and future connectivity requirements. The partnership is designed to expand service capabilities and provide secure, reliable and high-performance satellite connectivity for government entities, telecom operators, enterprises and other critical sectors. The companies will also explore additional collaboration opportunities and innovative communications solutions as Libya develops its digital infrastructure. The agreement strengthens the role of satellite networks in extending connectivity and supporting organizations that require dependable communications across areas where terrestrial infrastructure may be limited.
