AT&T Supercharges Stadium Connectivity with High-Capacity Neutral-Host Network
AT&T has deployed a new neutral-host distributed antenna system (DAS) at Mississippi State University’s Davis Wade Stadium, strengthening wireless connectivity across the 60,000-plus-seat venue. Led and owned by AT&T, the network uses Airspan’s MobileAccess 6000 Digital platform and is designed to support fans, students, teams, staff, media and visitors during high-traffic events. The 53-sector MIMO architecture supports mid-band spectrum including C-Band, 3.45 GHz and 2.5 GHz, providing greater capacity during sold-out football games and major entertainment events. The compact headend also helps address limited equipment space while allowing scalable deployment. The project highlights growing investment in high-capacity in-building wireless infrastructure for large venues where demand can surge sharply.
Comcast Brings High-Speed Broadband to 2,400 More Florida Homes and Businesses
Comcast has expanded Xfinity and Comcast Business high-speed internet services to more than 2,400 homes and businesses in Putnam County, Florida, through a public-private partnership with the state. The fiber-powered network now reaches communities including Bardin, Bostwick, Crescent City, Interlachen, Palatka and Pomona Park, while construction continues toward more than 3,500 additional locations by the end of 2026. The expansion brings residential broadband, mobile, streaming, voice and smart-home services, while Comcast Business offers connectivity, cybersecurity, SD-WAN and cloud solutions for local enterprises. The project is aimed at improving broadband access in rural communities and supporting education, healthcare, local businesses and economic development through broader availability of reliable high-speed connectivity.
Vodafone Idea Narrows Loss as 4G and 5G Users Drive ARPU Growth Vodafone Idea narrowed its first-quarter loss as higher average revenue per user and migration toward higher-value 4G and 5G services improved performance. The telecom operator reported a consolidated loss after tax of 37.54 billion rupees for the quarter ended June 30, compared with 66.08 billion rupees a year earlier. Its user base increased to 193.1 million from 192.8 million, marking the first quarter of positive net subscriber additions since the Vodafone India-Idea merger. ARPU rose 10.2 percent year over year to 195 rupees, supported by a 2.1 percent increase in 4G and 5G users. Vodafone Idea is also increasing network investment following fresh promoter funding and government relief on telecom dues.
