GENBAND provides GENiUS Platform to Hong Kong Broadband Network

Telecom Lead Asia: Hong Kong Broadband
Network (HKBN), a broadband service provider in Hong Kong, has
selected the GENBAND GENiUS all-IP platform to modernize its
communications network.

For the transformation of HKBN’s communications network,
GENBAND will be migrating TDM and first generation VoIP switches, as well
as first generation SIP servers to the GENiUS-powered IP solution.

The migration will enable HKBN to offer advanced business
and residential multimedia communications capabilities across the region.

GENBAND’s unmatched network migration expertise
and proven GENiUS solution allow us to increase revenue generation
opportunities and subscriber bases across both residential and business
customers while achieving a 95 percent savings in equipment floor space and
power consumption. Through interconnections enabled at the IP level by
GENBAND’s Intelligent S3 SBC, we also enhance our support for the International
Direct Dialing market,” said Lo Sui Lun, Chief Technology Officer, HKBN.

The company said that it has incorporated the A2
Communications Application Server, S3 Session Border Controller and
the C20 Converged Softswitch software on the all-IP GENiUS platform.

Through the GENiUS platform, we are able to seamlessly
integrate a host of HKBN’s services in unprecedented ways, such as delivering
advanced unified communications and multimedia capabilities with
our GENBAND Mobile Life and Mobile Office software
solutions, along with geo-redundant call control — all from the same
platform,” said Mark Pugerude, president, Global Sales and Marketing, GENBAND.

HKBN is the fastest growing broadband service provider in
Hong Kong, with fiber service reach of approximately 2 million residential
homes and 1,700 commercial buildings with services including 100-1000 Mbps
broadband access, telephony and IPTV.

GENBAND unveils end-to-end RCS-e solution with interconnect
capabilities

Recently, GENBAND introduced its GENBAND Rich
Communications Suite-enhanced (RCS-e) solution powered by the A2
