The latest Canalys report has revealed the top brands in the smartphone market in Indonesia, as part of the broader Southeast Asia market.
Leading smartphone brands in Indonesia are Oppo, Xiaomi, Transsion, Samsung and Vivo during the third quarter of 2024.
Oppo has 22 percent share in the smartphone market in Indonesia in Q3 2024. Oppo was the fourth largest smartphone maker in Indonesia with 16 percent in Q4 2023.
Xiaomi has 19 percent share in the smartphone market in Indonesia in Q3 2024 as compared with 18 percent in Q4 2023.
Transsion has 18 percent share in the smartphone market in Indonesia in Q3 2024 as compared with 18 percent in Q4 2023.
Samsung has 16 percent share in the smartphone market in Indonesia in Q3 2024 as compared with 18 percent in Q4 2023.
Vivo had 19 percent share in the smartphone market in Indonesia in Q4 2023. Vivo is out of the top 5 position in the smartphone market in Indonesia in Q3 2024.
Indonesia has been a key market for brands meeting its localization requirements. Despite the ban on Apple’s iPhone 16 due to investment-related disputes, Chinese OEMs have benefited by complying with local regulations, gaining a foothold in this high-potential market. As Indonesia moves towards 5G adoption, mid-range and premium offerings could become increasingly important for brands looking to leverage the country’s growing digital ecosystem.
