Market research agency Gartner has listed the top 10 phone makers in the world in Q3 2015 – based on their sales to customers.
Indian phone maker Micromax has doubled its phone market share in the global telecom market to 2.5 percent from 1.2 percent, said Gartner.
Samsung with 21.4 percent share (20.3), Apple 9.6 percent (8.3), Microsoft 6.3 percent (9.4), Huawei 5.7 percent (3.5 percent), LG Electronics 3.8 percent (4.6), Lenovo 3.7 percent (4.7), Xiaomi 3.6 percent (3.4), TCL Communication 3.6 percent (3.4), ZTE 2.9 percent (3) and Micromax 2.5 percent (1.2) are the top 10 phone vendors in the third quarter of 2015.
Worldwide mobile phone sales rose 3.7 percent to nearly 478 million units during the third quarter of 2015.
Global sales of smartphones rose 15.5 percent to 353 million units.
Smartphone sales in emerging markets rose 18.4 percent to 259.7 million, while sales in mature markets grew 8.2 percent.
Top 5 smartphone makers are Samsung with 23.7 percent share (23.9), Apple 13.1 percent (12.5), Huawei 7.7 percent (5.2), Lenovo 4.9 percent (7) and Xiaomi with 4.9 percent (5.2).
