India telecom operators have posted gross revenue of Rs 73,344 crore during the June quarter of 2016, said TRAI.
The growth in gross revenue was 7.33 percent during the period April – June, 2016 as compared with the previous quarter, said TRAI in a statement. The year-on-year growth in GR over the same quarter in last year was 12.79 percent.
Monthly Average Revenue per User (ARPU) for access services was Rs 141.
India had 1,035.12 million wireless subscribers and 24.74 million wireline subscribers during the June quarter.
India had 350.48 million Internet subscribers. The number of broadband subscribers was 162.06 million. The number of wired Internet subscribers was 20.76 million. The number of wireless Internet subscribers was 329.72 million.
The number of urban Internet subscribers was 236.77 million. The number of rural Internet subscribers was 113.71 million.
Internet penetration was 27.51. Urban Internet penetration was 59.53. India’s rural Internet penetration was 12.98.
Data Usage per subscriber per month was 153.82 MB.

Mobile
In terms of net additions during the June quarter, Bharti Airtel with 4.5 million has added the highest number of subscribers, followed by BSNL with 3.2 million.
The rural wireless subscribers increased from 444.84 million in March 2016 quarter to 446.33 million in Jun 2016 quarter. Urban wireless subscribers slightly declined from 588.79 million to 588.78 million during the quarter.
Bharti remains the leading service provider with 255.73 million wireless subscribers in June quarter, followed by Vodafone with 199.38 million. Videocon has stopped their commercial wireless service in India.
Internet
Total number of internet subscribers increased from 342.65 million to 350.48 million with quarterly growth rate of 2.28%. Wired Internet subscribers increased from 20.44 million to 20.76 million with quarterly growth of 1.55%, and wireless Internet subscribers increased from 322.21 million to 329.72 million with quarterly growth rate of 2.33%.
Number of broadband subscribers increased from 149.75 million to 162.06 million. The number of Narrowband subscribers declined from 192.90 million to 188.42 million, said TRAI.
