Research firm IDC has released the latest statistics on the server market share of Dell, HP, Lenovo, IBM and Cisco in Q1 2018.
The server market increased 38.6 percent to $18.8 billion during the first quarter of 2018 – driver by rise in ASPs. Server shipments rose 20.7 percent to 2.7 million units.
The demand for servers was also driven by refresh cycle from enterprise, strong demand from cloud service providers and increased use of servers as the core building blocks for software-defined infrastructure.
