Semiconductor sale increases 10.2% to $107.9 billion in Q3: SIA

Worldwide sales of semiconductors increased 10.2 percent to $107.9 billion in the third quarter of 2017 from the previous quarter, said the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA).

Sale of semiconductors has reached $36 billion in September 2017 — increasing 22.2 percent over the September 2016 and growing 2.8 percent from the previous month.

John Neuffer, SIA president and CEO, said: “The industry posted its highest-ever quarterly sales in Q3, and the global market is poised to reach its highest-ever annual revenue in 2017.”

Semiconductor sale in Americas achieved 40.7 percent year-to-year and 5.9 percent month-to-month growth.

Semiconductor sale in China achieved 19.9 percent year-to-year and 2.5 percent month-to-month growth.

Semiconductor sale in Europe achieved 19 percent year-to-year and 1.8 percent month-to-month growth.

Semiconductor sale in Asia Pacific and all other markets achieved 16.8 percent year-to-year and 1.9 percent month-to-month growth.

Semiconductor sale in Japan achieved 11.9 percent year-to-year and 0.5 percent month-to-month growth.

SIA said standouts among semiconductor product categories included memory products like DRAM and NAND flash, as well as Logic products.
