Semiconductor revenue grows 13.7% to $468.8 bn in 2018: SIA

Global semiconductor industry revenue rose 13.7 percent to $468.8 billion in 2018, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said.

Europe — 12.1%
Japan — 9.2%
Asia Pacific/All Other — 6.1%

Memory was the largest semiconductor category by sales with $158 billion (+27.4 percent) in 2018.

Within the memory category, sales of DRAM products rose 36.4 percent and sales of NAND flash products grew 14.8 percent.

Logic with $109.3 billion and micro-ICs with $67.2 billion revenue – a category that includes microprocessors – rounded out the top three product categories in terms of total sales.

Power transistors with $14.4 billion and analog products with $58.8 billion were other fast-growing product categories in 2018.
