Indian mobile operators reported gross revenue (GR) Rs 58,991 crore (–3.43 percent) and adjusted gross revenue (AGR) of Rs 36,054 crore (–6.44 percent) in the December quarter of 2018.
Reliance Jio reported adjusted gross revenue of Rs 9482.31 crore (+14.63 percent) in the December quarter of 2018. The adjusted gross revenue is based on the access revenue and does not represent the full revenue of the telecom operator.
Vodafone Idea posted adjusted gross revenue of 7223.72 crore (–4.05 percent) during the December quarter of 2018.
Bharti Airtel registered adjusted gross revenue of Rs 6439.65 crore (–4.18 percent) during the December quarter of 2018.
BSNL posted adjusted gross revenue of Rs 1744.37 (–9.40 percent) during the December quarter of 2018.
The latest TRAI report said mobile operators’ monthly ARPU increased 4.07 percent to Rs 70.13 in December quarter from Rs 67.39 in September quarter. Monthly ARPU for wireless service declined 11.78 percent on yearly basis. Prepaid ARPU per month was Rs 60 and post-paid ARPU was Rs 296.
The number of Internet subscribers increased from 560.01 million in September 2018 to 604.21 million in December. India has 21.42 million wired Internet subscribers and 582.79 million wireless Internet subscribers.
The number of broadband Internet subscriber base increased 9.06 percent to 525.36 million at the end of December 2018 from 481.70 million at the end of September.
Indian mobile operators have added 6.71 million mobile phone subscribers during the quarter taking the total number of wireless subscribers to 1,176 million at the end of December 2018, TRAI said.
