Mobile operator market share for May 2018

Indian telecom regulator TRAI has released the latest statistics for mobile operator share based on the number of wireless subscribers.
India mopile operator share May 2018TRAI said wireless subscriber base increased 0.53 percent from 1,125.07 million in April 2018 to 1,131.01 million in May 2018.

The wireless subscription in urban areas increased 0.18 percent from 624.52 million in April 2018 to 625.66 million in May 2018.

Wireless subscriptions in rural areas increased 0.96 percent from 500.55 million to 505.34 million during the month.

Airtel has 344.553 million mobile phone customers on its network. Airtel added 35.860 million thanks to its deals with Tata Teleservices and Telenor India.

Vodafone has 222.457 million mobile phone customers on its 2G, 3G and 4G networks.

Idea Cellular has 214.228 million mobile phone customers on its network.

Reliance Jio has 205.542 million 4G customers on its all-India network. Reliance Jio added 9.350 million new customers at the expense of Idea Cellular that lost 2.531 million.

BSNL has 112.871 million customers on its telecom network across India excluding Mumbai and Delhi.

UP (West), Maharashtra and Gujarat showed negative growth rate in wireless subscriber in May, 2018. Assam service area showed maximum growth rate of 3.03 percent followed by North East (2.57 percent) in their wireless subscriber base, TRAI said.
