China Mobile 4G subscriber base reaches 287 million      

China Mobile subscriber base in November 2015Telecom network operator China Mobile on Monday said its 4G LTE subscriber base reached 287.32 million, while 3G subscribers touched 178.9 million in November 2015.

4G subscriber base of China Mobile grew from 267.31 million, while the number of 3G subscribers fell from 187.06 million in October 2015.

For comparison, the 4G subscriber base of Bharti Airtel is just above one million, according to a consultation paper released by TRAI recently.

China Mobile said its total mobile subscriber base – 2G, 3G and 4G – rose by 1.2 million to 825.18 million in November 2015.

For comparison, India had 1,022.61 million wireless and wireline subscribers in September 2015. Out of this, the number of wireless or mobile subscribers was 996.66 million and 25.95 million wireline subscribers. The number of broadband users in India was 120.88 million with 104.75 from wireless and 16.13 million from wireline segment, according to TRAI.

While BSNL is the top wireline broadband operator in India, Bharti Airtel is the leading wireless broadband operator in the country.
