TRAI chart showing wireless subscriber base of top Indian telecoms
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released the latest statistics showing the wireless subscriber base of telecoms in September 2015.

Bharti Airtel has increased its wireless or mobile subscriber base to 235.21 million in September 2015 from 232.98 million in August 2015. On the other hand, Vodafone India enhanced its mobile user base to 188.17 million from 186.57 million and Idea Cellular increased to 166.56 million from 163.92 million, said TRAI.

Total wireless subscriber base increased 0.86 percent to 996.66 million in September 2015 from 988.17 million in August 2015.

The wireless subscription in urban areas increased 1.37 percent to 577.82 million, and wireless subscription in rural areas increased 0.16 percent to 418.44 million.

Out of the total wireless subscriber base of 996.66 million, 893.73 million wireless subscribers were active in September 2015. The proportion of active wireless subscribers was approximately 89.67 percent of the total wireless subscriber base, said TRAI.
