150 telecoms launch HD voice service on W-AMR technology

150 telecom network operators in 87 countries have launched HD voice service enabled by W-AMR technology.

128 deployments are on 3G / HSPA networks, 17 deployments are on 2G / GSM networks, while 40 deployments are on LTE networks (VoLTE), according to GSA, Global mobile Suppliers Association.

The telecom report said some mobile operators offer HD voice service on more than one radio system (2G/GSM, 3G/HSPA, 4G/LTE).

19 operators have launched HD voice so far in 2015.

40 telecom network operators launched HD voice service using VoLTE for their 4G / LTE customers in 28 countries, compared to 16 VoLTE live systems 10 months ago.

111 operators are investing in VoLTE in 52 countries. There are 246 VoLTE-capable devices including 224 smartphones.
