Telecom network operator Vodafone India has invested more than Rs 310 crore between April 2014 and September 2015 on its network and distribution presence in Bihar and Jharkhand.
Vodafone India has more than 8,840 2G and 2,500 3G sites in Bihar and Jharkhand circle covering more than 79.5 percent of the population.
Vodafone 3G — through an Intra Circle Roaming arrangement — reaches to additional 2,500 towns and villages.
Since April 2014, Vodafone India added more than 1,350 new sites across the region. Vodafone said its mobile service is available to more than 90 lakh customers in more than 35716 towns and villages in Bihar and Jharkhand. Vodafone has added over 4.5 lakh MNP customers since April 2014.
“Our investments between April 2014 and September 2015 have been directed at putting in place a network that our customers can rely upon and we are confident that customers who switch to our network will have a delightful experience,” said Rajshekhar Metgud, business head – Bihar & Jharkhand, Vodafone India.
Focusing on both urban and rural areas, Vodafone has more than 415+ retail outlets in Bihar & Jharkhand, including 7 Vodafone stores, 121 Vodafone Mini Stores and 290 ADVMS (rural mini stores).
Vodafone M-Pesa, a mobile banking service, has 6,000 agents and 2,75,000 customers in Bihar and Jharkhand. Vodafone M-Pesa has pan India distribution network of over 97,000 agents and more than 3.9 million customers.
