SK Telecom Replaces SIM Cards

SK Telecom will give free SIM cards to 23 million users after a data leak. People can get new SIMs starting April 28 at stores and airports. The company also uses tools to stop fake SIM use and protect accounts. People who already paid for new SIMs will get refunds. 2.4 million users signed up for SKT’s protection service.

Ethio Telecom Sells Shares

Ethio Telecom sold 10.7 million shares in its first stock sale. It raised 3.2 billion birrs from over 47,000 people. Only Ethiopian citizens could buy shares. The sale is part of a plan to bring private money into telecom, Reuters news report said.

Nokia Sells Vodafone Idea Shares

Nokia has sold part of its shares in Vodafone Idea for Rs 786 crore. Goldman Sachs bought some shares for Rs 457.96 crore. Vodafone Idea’s share price dropped after the sale. Earlier, Vodafone Idea gave shares to Nokia and Ericsson to pay dues.

Vodafone and Maroc Telecom Partner for Enterprise Services in Morocco

Vodafone Business and Maroc Telecom have signed an agreement to provide digital services and connectivity to businesses in Morocco. The partnership will initially focus on smart city and energy management solutions. In the future, they plan to offer services like SD-WAN, Mobile Private Networks, cloud solutions, and cybersecurity. This collaboration will support sectors such as logistics, manufacturing, retail, and public services. It will also help Vodafone expand its presence in Africa.

Bharti Airtel Launches Unlimited International Roaming Plans in 189 Countries

Indian telecom operator Bharti Airtel has introduced unlimited international roaming data plans across 189 countries. The new offering includes in-flight connectivity, automatic activation when landing, and 24/7 customer support. Airtel also launched a new INR 4,000 plan, which includes 5GB of international data, 100 minutes for overseas calls, and 6.5GB of domestic data with unlimited calls. These updates are designed to improve the roaming experience for Airtel customers.
