BT Group to Recruit Over 500 Apprentices and Graduates in 2024 for Diverse Roles

BT Group, a leading telecommunications company, has unveiled plans to hire more than 500 apprentices and graduates for its September 2024 intake.
BT broadbandThe recruitment drive will span a wide array of roles, including software engineering, customer service, applied research, data analytics, and cyber-security. These strategic hires aim to contribute to the development of the UK’s rapidly expanding digital landscape.

The new positions will be distributed across cutting-edge offices, a part of BT Group’s ambitious Better Workplace Programme. This initiative represents the largest workplace improvement and consolidation scheme ever undertaken in the UK. The locations selected for the recruitment drive include Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Darlington, Ipswich, Leeds, London, Manchester, Sheffield, and Warrington.

BT Group stands out as one of the UK’s major private sector apprenticeship employers, having successfully recruited over 3,000 apprentices and graduates in the last five years. The company offers a range of apprenticeships, spanning from level two (equivalent to GCSE standard) to level seven (a master’s degree).

Recognized for its commitment to apprenticeship programs, BT Group secured the second position in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers in the UK in 2023. As part of its Manifesto for responsible, inclusive, and sustainable growth, the company has pledged to foster a more diverse talent pool.

Elaine Bergin, Director of Colleague Experience at BT Group, expressed the company’s dedication to attracting top-tier talent. She stated, “As one of the largest private sector employers of apprentices and graduates in the UK, we continue to recruit and attract brilliant people into our business, and we offer unparalleled opportunities to those who join us.”

Bergin emphasized the role of the recruitment initiative in building a stronger BT Group.
