Ericsson has announced the completion of equity investments from twelve global communication service providers (CSPs), finalizing the formation of Aduna as a 50:50 joint venture.

Aduna, operational since the initial agreement in September 2024, aims to globally aggregate and commercialize network Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). The JV is now co-owned by Ericsson and a consortium of CSPs: AT&T, Bharti Airtel, Deutsche Telekom, KDDI, Orange, Reliance Jio, Singtel, Telefonica, Telstra, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Vodafone.
Each shareholder contributes not just capital but strategic value through industry relationships, in-depth developer community knowledge, and network API expertise. Ericsson’s key contribution is its global network platform, which forms the technological foundation for Aduna’s operations.
Anthony Bartolo, CEO of Aduna, emphasized the strategic momentum gained from the closure of the deal. “In just ten months, we’ve built an ecosystem featuring the most influential telecom and ICT names. This transaction accelerates our mission to drive global adoption of network APIs and expand operator participation,” Bartolo stated.
Beyond the founding partners, Aduna has rapidly built a growing ecosystem that includes CSPs such as e&, Bouygues Telecom, Free, CelcomDigi, SoftBank, and NTT DOCOMO. It also collaborates with major cloud providers and platform enablers like Google Cloud, Microsoft, and Vonage, as well as CPaaS providers such as Sinch and Infobip. System integrators and ISVs like Wipro, Tech Mahindra, and Syniverse also play key roles in broadening API adoption.
Aduna’s mission is to simplify access to network capabilities for developers worldwide, fostering new innovations and business models across industries through standardized, secure, and scalable APIs. The venture’s formation is viewed as a strategic move to unify fragmented efforts across telcos and establish a robust platform economy for the next generation of digital services.
