Ericsson Appoints Chafic Nassif as Head of Market Area North East Asia

Ericsson has announced the appointment of Chafic Nassif as the new Head of Market Area North East Asia and Senior Vice President.
Ericsson LTE network supplierCurrently serving as the Head of Ericsson’s Customer Unit Latin America North within Market Area Europe & Latin America, Chafic Nassif is set to take over the reins from Chris Houghton, who assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer of Ericsson in November 2023. The appointment is effective from February 26, 2024, and Chafic Nassif will be based in Japan.

Chafic Nassif brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having held various executive and management positions within Ericsson across diverse business segments and global geographies. His most recent role was as the Head of Customer Unit Taiwan. Prior to joining Ericsson, Chafic Nassif was actively involved in tech start-ups and held leadership positions in IT and business consulting in Europe.

The appointment of Chafic Nassif is part of Ericsson’s strategic efforts to strengthen its leadership team and enhance its presence in the North East Asia market. Chris Houghton, the outgoing Head, expressed confidence in Chafic Nassif’s capabilities, highlighting his extensive experience and leadership in driving business growth, a news statement from Ericsson indicated.

Chafic Nassif’s new responsibilities will involve overseeing Ericsson’s operations and market strategies in the North East Asia region, which includes key markets such as Japan. This move is anticipated to further fortify Ericsson’s position in the rapidly evolving telecommunications and technology landscape.
