Airtel appoints MTN executive Wim Vanhelleputte as ED

Bharti Airtel has appointed MTN executive Wim Vanhelleputte as the new executive director for one of its key business regions.

As ED of Bharti Airtel, Vanhelleputte will be responsible for Gabon, Congo B, Burkina Faso, Niger, Chad, Madagascar and the Seychelles.

The telecom service provider said that Vanhelleputte joins Bharti Airtel from MTN where he was the chief executive officer for MTN Ivory Coast, where he transformed the company from a GSM operator into the number one integrated telecom player in the country.
