Videocon Telecom offers free data to non-data subscribers

Videocon Telecom today announced free data for its all non-data subscribers.

Videocon Telecom has a total subscriber base of over 10 million.

The telecom service provider has set up a free helpline and extends demonstration stations at all its Videocon Connect retail shops to educate on data usage.

With a trial offer of 750 MB of free data for two months, Videocon Telecom plans to offer over 1,500 Tera byte of free data to non data subscribers.
Videocon slashes mobile internet rate
According to a study by Videocon Telecom among non-data, more than 86 percent of non data users have data enabled handsets. Factors such as inadequate knowledge, initial hesitation to ask someone on knowhow and perception of high data cost are blocking them from becoming mobile data users.

To receive the free data offer, subscribers need to give a missed call on a pre-defined no, and based on eligibility, subscriber will be receiving free data followed by a call from the Digital Helpline on the knowhow.

“We have mobile internet penetration of 64 percent on customers with data enabled handsets. Yet there is a set of customers who despite owning a data enabled handset have not used data since they came aboard on our network,” said Arvind Bali, director & CEO, Videocon Telecommunications in a statement.
