Bharti Airtel has launched 4G in Aizwal, Mizoram.
As part of this launch, Airtel is offering 4G at 3G data prices with packs starting at INR 25.
On Airtel’s 4G launch in the city, Saurabh Goel, CEO – Assam and North East, Bharti Airtel said, “Mobile data traffic is soaring in India and users are switching from slower 2G connections to 3G and superior 4G. We are launching our 4G services in Aizwal today, looking at the demand for high speed data in the region. Customer in Aizwal will now enjoy blazing Airtel 4G speed across a range of devices”.
To monetize from the 4G opportunities, Airtel also announced OTT partnership with ErosNow to deliver broadcast content from Wynk Movies, Airtel’s video app that offers a specially curated library of movies and other popular videos.
4G customers in Mizoram will get six months of unlimited music streaming and downloads on ‘Wynk Music’ and five free movies per month for six months on the Eros Now channel of ‘Wynk Movies’.
Airtel has also introduced a new range of ‘Infinity Plans’ starting Rs.999. These high-end plans offer unlimited voice calls on mobile along with data benefits and access to ‘Wynk Movies’ and ‘Wynk Music.’
The Flexpage, an automated platform from Airtel, allows customers to track their data usage and get real time usage alerts.
Airtel has partnered with leading mobile manufacturers like Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, Lenovo, Asus and Huawei to bundle their devices with Airtel 4G. These devices are sold through Flipkart. Customers buying these devices can avail benefits on Airtel 4G data, the company said.
Aimed at driving the commercial launch of its 4G services, Airtel also has launched an all new brand campaign. The ‘Airtel Challenge’ invites customers to demonstrate the superior internet experience that Airtel’s smartphone network delivers for its customers.
On Thursday, Airtel launched 4G in Sonipat, Haryana. There the company announced a special package that offers 10 GB for Rs 995.
Airtel 4G can be accessed on a wide range of smart devices including mobile phones, dongles, 4G hotspots and Wi-Fi dongles.
