Telit powers Toucan line of Nimble Wireless with embedded modules

Telecom Lead America: Telit Wireless Solutions, a
provider of M2M modules and services, is enabling cellular communication
for Nimble Wireless via embedded modules.

Through embedded modules, Telit is empowering Nimble
Toucan, a product family for fleet and asset tracking applications.

Telit’s discrete modules allowed us to maintain the
small dimensions of our Toucan device, enabling the monitoring and tracking of
assets of any size,” said Naveen Sabapathy, president of Nimble Wireless Inc.

Utilizing the form factor compatibility of three Telit
modules, Nimble Wireless is able to create GSM, CDMA and HSPA versions of
Toucan with a single device design, providing flexibility for customers in
selecting service providers and achieving optimum cellular network coverage for
mobile solutions.

Nimble’s Toucan was designed for both mobile and fixed
M2M solutions to capture and transmit critical data for remote assets. Toucan
line consist devices with features like rugged tracking, monitoring device and
extended battery life.

Nimble claims that Toucan is ideal for applications
ranging from vehicle and cargo tracking to cold freezer and ATM machine
monitoring.

The flexibility of the Toucan products coupled with the
extended battery life makes Nimble’s solution an extremely viable option for
organizations looking to leverage the efficiencies of M2M technology,” said
Mike Ueland, senior vice president and general manager of Telit Wireless
Solutions North America.

Toucan utilizes the low power consumption of Telit’s C24,
G24L and H24 modules along with Nimble’s own eXPo low power technology to
extend battery life to up to three years for tracking solutions.
