MWC 2015: Italtel to assist telecoms to face OTT challenges

Italtel will showcase its IP protocol-based solutions to assist telecom service providers to face challenges from the over the top (OTT) players at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2015).

The latest technologies from Italtel at MWC 2015 include Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), Software Defined Networking (SDN), WebRTC (Real Time Communication) and IP Multimedia Subsystems (IMS).

The benefits of All-IP include capability to provide new services and features like High Definition video, increased network coverage and lower operation expense (Opex).  Several operators have previously appointed Italtel for network upgrades.

At MWC 2015, Italtel will discuss solutions for service providers’ enterprise customers. Two main examples of solutions for a cloud service and for on-premises deployment will be shown at the MWC 2015.

Italtel in a statement said that it suggests network transformation and decommissioning to move to an-all IP architecture, in order to survive the changing telecommunications landscape, characterized by traffic explosion, an increase in the number of devices and reduction in the profitability of telecommunication services.
