EXFO Xtract monitoring platform promises hardware Capex savings of 60 percent

EXFO on Thursday announced the launch of EXFO Xtract, promising hardware Capex savings of up to 60 percent.

The monitoring platform is designed to analyze, correlate and report on real-time, historical, and predicted events in the network.

Utilizing software engines, the solution offers visibility of network infrastructure performance through a distributed polling system with the ability to monitor millions of elements in real time, said EXFO in a statement.

EXFO Xtract will assist network operators with an in-depth view of their infrastructure, as well as the level of information required to improve the overall control and performance of their network. EXFO said the new platform proactively monitors management of their assets, regardless of infrastructure size, geographical deployment distribution, or network topology architecture.

The company said EXFO Xtract has the smallest hardware footprint in the industry. It is also the most cost-effective solution on the market, generating significant hardware Capex (capital spending) savings up to 60 percent greater than those of its closest competitor.

“EXFO Xtract is leveraged in proactive scenarios to identify trends and impending problems related to the service infrastructure, thus enabling operators to take action before service outages occur for better operational efficiency,” said Claudio Mazzuca, vice president of EXFO’s Transport and Service Assurance Division.
