Telecom Lead India: Zync Global has priced its 2G tablet — Zync Z99 — at Rs 6,990.
Amul Mohan Mittal, co- founder, Zync Global, said: “With the calling facility and cheaper rates than 3G, the 2G tablets do have a lot of potential especially in the Tier II-Tier III cities. The 3G plans are expensive, hence it has been a common trend that though people have 3G-enabled devices, they would still opt for 2G plans which are more economical.”
Zync is on an aggressive expansion to capture a majority part of the market in smaller cities. 2G tablets fulfill the main purpose of making calls, checking e-mails on the go and surf the internet and that is what users look for while making a purchase.
