Altair Semiconductor teams with AIONWirelessto drive LTE windows7 tablet

 Altair Semiconductor, a provider of ultra-low power and small
footprint 4G LTE chipsets, and AÍON Wireless, a developer of wireless technologies,
announced the launch of AÍON Wireless TXA140 LTE.

The AIONWireless TXA140 LTE Model is world’s first Windows7-based LTE tablet PC. It
was released in May 2011 and currently being tested by several
operators.

 

The tablet PC
has Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11 b/g/n wireless support, and provides full LTE
connectivity using Altair’sFourGee -3100/6200 LTE chipset.

 

The next
generation of AÍONWireless’ tablet – model AU116 LTE Intel i5/i7 – highlighted
by a 11.6″ touchscreen panel and Windows 8 compatibility, will be released
in the first half of 2012 and will also provide full LTE connectivity using
Altair’s FourGee  -3100/6200 LTE chipset.

LTE to our consumers, enabling them to fully enjoy the mobile experience.

Marketing and Business Development at Altair Semiconductor.

 

Altair’s
FourGee-3100/6200 is a 3GPP LTE chipset that supports LTE throughputs in excess
of 100Mbps/50Mbps DL/UL respectively.

 

The chipset
implements a high performance MIMO receiver and is based on a
proprietary O²Pâ„¢ Software Defined Radio (SDR) processor.

 

A few months
back, Altair Semiconductor and AsiaTelco Technologies, a supplier of wireless terminal
products, announced that Altair’s chipset has been integrated in AsiaTelco’s
TD-LTE Mobile Hotspot product, the ALM-F190.
