Labs, which specializes in surround sound, audio enhancement, and voice
post-processing technologies, announced today that its high-performance mobile
audio enhancement solution, SRS TruMedia is now available for implementation on
product designs utilizing the Snowball development platform based on
ST-Ericsson’s Nova A9500 processor.
SRS TruMedia is a feature-rich mobile audio solution that
enables a mobile phone’s built-in speaker(s) to deliver an immersive audio
experience, with a noticeable expansion of the sound field, more pronounced
bass, clearer vocals and enhanced midrange performance.
The solution is designed to help developers create
applications for Android, the SKY-S9500-ULP-CXX is a low power, low cost single
board computer that targets hobbyists and professional developers wanting to
prototype new embedded designs.

The ST-Ericsson Snowball developer combines ST-Ericsson’s
Nova A9500 dual-core application processor with an ARM dual Cortex A9 and Mali
400 GPU, innovative MEMS (3D gyroscope, accelerometer, magnetometer and a
barometer), GPS, Wi-fi and Bluetooth features, in a compact battery-operated
device.
With support for 3D graphics, HD video and HDMI output, the
Snowball puts cutting-edge mobile technologies within reach of a broad
community of professional developers and hobbyists.

SRS Labs and ST-Ericsson will showcase the results of their
integrated technologies through a video short entitled “The Escape,” directed by visual effects veteran Jordan Foster, at this week’s Mobile World
Congress 2012 in Barcelona, Spain.
