China-based OPPO has revealed its AI strategy at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 focusing on enhancing customer experience through innovation, collaboration, and integration of AI across its ecosystem.
OPPO, which has 8 percent share in the global smartphone market according to Canalys data for 2024, is committed to providing seamless and secure AI-driven interactions for users worldwide.
Through a collaboration with technology major Google, OPPO is embedding Google AI experiences across its smartphone lineup. Google Gemini AI will soon integrate with OPPO’s native applications, such as Notes, Calendar, and Clock, to enhance user efficiency.
This partnership also extends to AI security, with OPPO implementing Private Computing Cloud (PCC) built on Google Cloud’s Confidential Computing to protect user privacy while leveraging powerful AI functionalities. Features such as AI Recording Summary, AI Search, AI Studio, and AI Call Summary will operate within this secure AI framework.
OPPO’s AI R&D strategy centers on three core pillars: AI Productivity, AI Creativity, and AI Imaging. This approach ensures that AI becomes an integral part of users’ daily lives. OPPO, in partnership with MediaTek, is optimizing its smartphone chips for real-time AI processing, enabling high-performance computing while maintaining energy efficiency.
OPPO says advanced AI technologies like LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation), Parallel Decoding Solution, and MoE (Mixture of Experts) further enhance device capabilities, delivering superior AI-driven performance.
OPPO commits to delivering AI updates at an accelerated pace, aiming for an average of one new AI update per month. The company is expanding its AI ecosystem to reach nearly 100 million users by the end of 2025, doubling its current user base.
Upcoming AI-powered features include AI Search and deeper Google Gemini integration, alongside AI Call Translator for real-time multilingual call interpretation and AI VoiceScribe for multi-use voice summarization in different scenarios.
At MWC2025, OPPO AI Phones, including the Find N5, Reno13 series, and Find X8 series, showcase these advancements, reflecting OPPO’s leadership in AI innovation.
