VIAVI introduced handheld tools for last-mile fiber service activation and testing at speeds up to 10 Gbps. The devices combine testing for fiber, Ethernet, WiFi 7, and DOCSIS in one unit. They feature single-button testing for speed and performance, pre-configured and customizable profiles, and automatic pass/fail indicators. The design supports upgrades to higher speeds, including 25G and 50G.
Fibocom Powers India’s Telecom Growth with Local Manufacturing and AIoT Solutions
Fibocom announced its local manufacturing initiative at electronica India 2025 to align with India’s Make in India strategy and support the Digital India program. The company is focusing on building telecom and IoT solutions within India to strengthen the supply chain and improve domestic production. Fibocom is introducing AIoT solutions tailored for India, integrating artificial intelligence with Internet of Things technologies, with applications including smart metering for real-time monitoring of utilities, vehicle telematics aligned with AIS-140 standards, smart point-of-sale terminals enabling multiple payment options, and 5G Fixed Wireless Access for broadband connectivity in underserved regions.
Fiber Leap in Wasco: unWired Broadband Brings 5 Gbps Internet to 6,000 Homes
unWired Broadband announced the installation of its NextGen Fiber network in Wasco, California. The project represents a $10 million investment to deliver internet speeds up to 5 Gbps, reaching nearly 6,000 addresses in the city. Construction began in 2025 and is scheduled for completion by February 2026. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on September 25, 2025, at the corner of Central and Filburn in Wasco to mark the launch of the fiber initiative.
ThinkPalm and RAD Transform Industrial IoT for CSPs
ThinkPalm and RAD have partnered to integrate ThinkPalm’s NetvirE IIoT platform with RAD’s Smart Business IoT solution.
