Paygasus Boosts Always-On Internet with Peplink and Starlink

Paygasus has become an Authorized Peplink and Starlink Solution Provider, offering uninterrupted internet for critical infrastructure in North America. By combining Peplink’s SpeedFusion technology with Starlink satellite connectivity, Paygasus provides reliable internet solutions for transit, EV charging, smart cities, and public safety. The integration allows automatic failover and consistent connectivity in remote and challenging environments. Peplink devices, such as the Antenna MAX S, integrate satellite, 5G/LTE, Wi-Fi, and GPS in a single enclosure, enabling seamless network management. Starlink is developing direct-to-cell phone connectivity to provide high-bandwidth access globally without relying on traditional mobile carriers.

India Reviews Satellite Broadband Pricing: DoT Questions TRAI Plan

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) raised concerns over the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) satellite communication pricing plan and sought a review. TRAI proposed an additional ₹500 annual fee for urban satellite broadband users, but DoT noted distinguishing urban and rural users could be difficult. TRAI also suggested a 4 percent charge on adjusted gross revenue (AGR) for satellite internet providers, and an annual spectrum fee of ₹3,500 per MHz; DoT requested a higher minimum spectrum fee. TRAI proposed subsidizing satellite terminals costing ₹20,000–₹50,000 through the Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN); DoT asked for a review. The department expressed concerns over direct-to-mobile connectivity services, such as those from Starlink, which may bypass existing telecom levies. Satellite broadband services by companies like Starlink, OneWeb, and Jio Satellite aim to expand connectivity and introduce new service models, Moneycontrol reports.

Ghana and Togo Join Forces to Boost Cross-Border Telecom Connectivity

Ghana and Togo have strengthened cross-border spectrum coordination to address frequency interference and improve telecommunications services along their shared border. A three-day meeting held in Accra brought together regulators and mobile network operators from both countries to discuss interference management and spectrum allocation. The discussions focused on technical solutions, coordination mechanisms, and strategies to reduce cross-border frequency conflicts. This collaboration aims to enhance regional connectivity and ensure reliable telecom services for users in border areas.
