Airtel Launches AI Powered Shield Against Bank Fraud
Bharti Airtel has rolled out a new AI powered “Fraud Alert” system to bolster protection against One Time Password (OTP) related banking scams, particularly those exploited during suspicious phone calls. The solution works at the network level, without needing an app, to detect risky scenarios when a banking OTP arrives during a potentially fraudulent call and immediately warns the customer, helping prevent fraudsters from tricking users into sharing codes. The feature is already live in Haryana and will be extended nationwide within about two weeks.

Bringing Affordable Internet to Africa: Eutelsat and unconnected.org Launch Satellite Wi‑Fi in Tanzania
Eutelsat and global non‑profit unconnected.org have partnered to provide affordable satellite‑powered community Wi‑Fi in Tanzania, with plans to expand across Africa using the EUTELSAT KONNECT high‑throughput satellite. The initiative will involve local partners including ISPs, NGOs, and governments to deploy community internet access in underserved and remote regions, enabling schools, healthcare centres, and small businesses to connect where terrestrial networks are limited. This model aims to accelerate digital inclusion while supporting sustainable business returns for local operators. The project builds on Eutelsat’s achievement of connecting one million people in Sub‑Saharan Africa ahead of schedule under the ITU’s Partner2Connect coalition.
