Aweh Mobile Launches New Mobile Service in South Africa
Aweh Mobile has entered South Africa’s telecommunications market with a family-focused mobile offering designed to simplify household connectivity and provide greater value for multiple users. The new mobile virtual network operator is positioning its service around the growing importance of shared mobile connectivity among families. Aweh Mobile’s launch adds another player to South Africa’s competitive mobile services market, where operators and virtual network providers are targeting differentiated customer segments. The company is focusing on making mobile services easier for households to manage while delivering flexible connectivity options. The launch expands the country’s telecom ecosystem by introducing a new consumer-oriented mobile proposition rather than competing solely through conventional network infrastructure investment.
Openreach Selects Ciena for 3.2 Tbps Optical Network Upgrade and 800G Services
Openreach has selected Ciena to expand high-capacity wholesale connectivity across the United Kingdom using WaveLogic 6 coherent optical technology. The deployment introduces 3.2 Tbps of scalable optical capacity through Ciena’s Waveserver platform, supporting 400G and 800G client services over dedicated 1.6 Tbps wavelengths. A compact 2RU chassis can support up to 32 individual 400G services. Openreach will integrate the equipment into its Optical Spectrum Extended Access portfolio, serving data centers, submarine cable landing stations and core network locations. Ciena will also provide managed services covering deployment, monitoring and maintenance. The upgrade enables Openreach to introduce national 800G wholesale connectivity for customers requiring substantially greater bandwidth.
Optimum Launches Customer Appreciation Program with Rewards and Savings
Optimum has introduced “Optimum Thanks You,” a customer appreciation program offering giveaways, sweepstakes, exclusive experiences and everyday savings.
