India broadband market share statistics for August 2014 released by TRAI

Telecom regulator TRAI has released India broadband market share statistics for August 2014.

Wired broadband

Top five wired broadband service providers based on subscribers were BSNL with 9.97million users, Bharti Airtel with 1.39 million, MTNL with 1.13 million, Beam Telecom with 0.40 million and YOU Broadband with 0.41 million connections.

Wireless broadband

Top five wireless broadband service providers were Bharti Airtel with 15.14 million connections, Vodafone with 12.51 million, Idea Cellular with 9.85 million, BSNL with 8.35 million and Reliance Communications with 6.53 million users.

India broadband market share

Top five service providers constituted 85.94 percent market share of total broadband subscribers (including wired and wireless broadband) in August. BSNL had 18.32 million broadband users, Bharti Airtel with 16.53 million, Vodafone with 12.52 million, Idea Cellular with 9.86 million and Reliance Communications with 6.64 million connections.

TRAI said the number of broadband subscribers rose 4.95 percent to 74.31 million in August from 70.81 million in July.
