Intelsat names Stephen Spengler as next CEO

Satellite services provider Intelsat today announced that Stephen Spengler will be its new CEO from April 1, 2015.

Till that time Spengler will be promoted as deputy chief executive officer from the current position as Intelsat president and chief commercial officer.

Under the company’s succession plan, Intelsat chairman and CEO David McGlade will transition to the position of executive chairman effective April 1, 2015.

Spengler has been with Intelsat in various positions since 2003, including serving as executive vice president, Sales, Marketing and Strategy.

During his tenure, Spengler led the development of Intelsat’s mobility network and next generation satellite platform Intelsat EpicNG.
