Comcast appoints Myrna Soto as chief information security officer

Myrna Soto, CISO of Comcast

Comcast has promoted Myrna Soto global chief information security officer (GCISO) — responsible for the development of cyber and data security strategies.

She will focus on security policies across the entire Comcast enterprise, including Comcast Cable, NBCUniversal and Comcast Spectacor. She reports to Michael Cavanagh, chief financial officer of Comcast.

Prior to this appointment, Soto served as chief infrastructure and information security officer (CIISO) within Engineering & Platform Services for Comcast Cable.

Soto, who joined Comcast in 2009, has more than 25 years of information security and technology leadership experience in a number of industries, including financial services, hospitality, insurance / risk management and gaming / entertainment.
