Indian telecom operator Bharti Airtel has launched V-Fiber broadband service in Mumbai — offering speeds of up to 100 Mbps.
Airtel says V-Fiber — based on Vectorization fixed broadband technology – will offer high-speed data for ensuring HD video streaming, heavy file downloads and uploads in a multi-device environment (over Wi-Fi).
Airtel is the first Indian telecom operator to deploy Vectorization technology. Customers need a new modem to benefit from V-Fiber. Customers do not need any fresh wiring, drilling etc. at an existing customer’s premises.
Airtel is enhancing its 550,000 Kms of domestic and international fiber/submarine cable capacity in order to drive down latency, improve customer experience and serve the growing demand of data services in years to come. The company is also increasing caching of content at its data centers to improve data experience for customers.
Customer benefits
Bharti Airtel is not charging any fee for upgrading to V-Fiber broadband in Mumbai. If broadband users are not happy with the service within one month, Airtel will refund the modem charges and the amount will be adjusted in the next bill cycle.
New broadband customers can select V-Fiber plans starting from Rs 899 and can get unlimited offer for the 3 months. Existing and new customers can register their requests at www.airtel.in/vfiber or call on 18001030121.
“This solution offers a very quick and convenient upgrade to the customer. Our innovative myHome Rewards program and free voice calling facility will certainly add to the delight of Mumbai’s Digital Homes,” said Sameer Batra, chief executive officer – Mumbai, Bharti Airtel.
Airtel said its myHome Rewards program provides 5GB free data per month for every other Airtel service connection – postpaid mobile or digital TV (DTH) – within the home/family. Customers can get this offer for their existing as well as new Airtel postpaid mobile and digital TV connections.
If an Airtel broadband home has two Airtel postpaid mobiles and one Airtel digital TV connection, they will get 15 GB free additional data to their broadband account every month.
Airtel is also offering unlimited free voice calling for broadband customers to any network across the country.
