Smartphone market fell 12% in Q1 2023: Canalys

The global smartphone market fell 12 percent year-on-year in Q1 2023 — a fifth consecutive quarter of decline, Canalys said.

Apple dropped to second place with a 21 percent market share, narrowing the gap between itself and Samsung, driven by solid demand for its iPhone 14 Pro series in Q1 2023.

OPPO and vivo strengthened positions in the Asia Pacific region and their home markets, accounting for 10 percent and 8 percent of the market share respectively.
