Four operators apply for 5G spectrum auction in Germany

Four companies have applied to participate in spectrum auction for 5G mobile licences in Germany, the BNetzA federal network agency said on Friday.
3G, 4G and 5G forecast for 2022Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, Telefonica Deutschland and 1&1 Drillisch, a unit of United Internet submitted applications for the 5G license in Germany.

The auction of spectrum in the 2 GHz and 3.6 GHz bands will begin in the second half of March, BNetzA said, adding it would take a quick decision on determining whether the applicants are eligible to take part.
