Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has revealed the latest mobile Internet user base of Reliance Jio Infocomm and Bharti Airtel for April 2017.
According to TRAI, Reliance Jio Infocomm has 112.55 million wireless broadband users till April 2017 against 50.17 million at Bharti Airtel, 39.75 million for Vodafone, 24.09 million for Idea Cellular and 14 million at Reliance Communications.
The chart indicates the mobile Internet market share of all telecom operators in India.
Top five wired broadband service providers in India are BSNL with 9.87 million users, while Bharti Airtel has 2.09 million, Atria Convergence Technologies has 1.19 million, MTNL has 1 million and YOU Broadband has 0.63 million.
The above chart prepared by TRAI shows the wireless user net additions in the month of April 2017.
TRAI said the number of broadband subscribers increased to 284.23 million in April 2017 with a monthly growth rate of 2.79 percent. It includes 18.25 million wired and 265.43 million wireless broadband users.
Wireless subscribers on GSM, CDMA and LTE networks increased to 1,174.6 million in April 2017 with a tele-density of 91.34, registering a monthly growth rate of 0.38 percent.
Wireless subscription in urban areas increased to 675.48 million (+0.46 percent) with tele-density of 167.21.
Wireless user base in rural areas rose to 499.12 million (+0.27 percent) with tele-density of 56.59 in April.
TRAI said the share of urban and rural wireless subscribers in total number of wireless subscribers was 57.51 percent and 42.49 percent respectively.
