India router market revenue dropped 24.3 percent to $72.3 million during Q2 2019 due to dip in spending by service providers.
Cisco leads the India router market with 56.1 percent share followed by Nokia with 23.4 percent, Huawei with 8.1 percent and Juniper with 7.8 percent.
The ethernet switch, router, and WLAN market are expected to grow in single digits in terms of compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for 2018-2023 due to increased adoption of technologies such as cloud, IOT, mobility, etc.
Research firm IDC said it expects large investments for 5G rollouts in the next couple of years. Telecom operators such as Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and Reliance Jio are expected to focus on their 5G investment.
Indian Ethernet switch market revenue rose 2.1 percent to $140.1 million. ADC drove the growth, while switches saw a marginal decline in the quarter. Top spending for switching segment came from services, telecom, finance, and government sectors.
Cisco has dominated the Indian Ethernet switch market with 51.4 percent share, followed by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) with 10.9 percent, Huawei Technologies with 5.4 percent and Nokia with 3 percent.
