Huawei is the leading small cell vendor in 2014, said Dell’Oro Group.
The report did not share details about the second largest small cell player.
In fact, macro RAN vendors accounted for large portions of the total small cell market last year. Samsung and SpiderCloud accounted for noticeable shares in the outdoor 4G and indoor 3G segments, respectively.
The demand for non-residential small cell infrastructure improved significantly in the second half of 2014, with the total small cell market, excluding DAS small cells, improving nearly three-fold in 2014.
The size of the non-residential indoor small cell market was $100 million, while non-residential outdoor small cell market was $250 million in 2014.
The report said 4G accounted for 80 percent of outdoor small cell revenues while the air interface split was more evenly distributed for indoor small cell revenues.
