Apple has maintained its tablet applications processor (AP) revenue share lead with 30 percent share in Q3 2014, said Strategy Analytics.

Apple rivals — Intel had 19 percent revenue share, while Qualcomm had 14 percent revenue share in the global tablet applications processor market in the third quarter. MediaTek and Samsung are the other two top chip vendors.
The tablet applications processor market grew 16 percent to $1.4 billion in Q3 2014.
Google Android-based tablets have assisted Intel to more than triple its tablet AP shipments in Q3 2014. Intel will maintain its tablet AP momentum in 2015 due to the upcoming low-cost SoFIA 3G / 4G APs and Rockchip and Spreadtrum partnerships.
Low-cost Chinese and Taiwanese tablet AP companies including Actions Semiconductor, Allwinner, MediaTek, Spreadtrum, Rockchip and others increased their cumulative volume share to 36 percent in Q3 2014 compared to 29 percent in Q3 2013.
