Vodafone to Acquire Telekom Romania Mobile in €30 mn Deal

Vodafone has signed agreement with Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (OTE) to acquire parts of OTE’s subsidiary, Telekom Romania Mobile Communications.

Under the deal, Vodafone will acquire TKRM’s post-paid customer base and operations for €30 million.

Digi will purchase the pre-paid customer business.

Vodafone and Digi will gain additional spectrum and network towers, strengthening their infrastructure and service capacity in Romania.

Margherita Della Valle, Chief Executive of Vodafone Group, said: “This transaction strengthens our position in Romania by increasing our local scale and unlocking significant synergy benefits. It supports our strategy of building strong positions in growing markets, enabling us to invest in the high-quality networks our customers rely on.”

Completion of the transaction is expected by early October 2025, pending regulatory approvals.

This move signals competition and investment in Romania’s mobile communications sector, promising improved connectivity and more choices for customers.
