Vodafone Idea has lost significant number of mobile phone customers on its 2G, 3G and 4G networks during June 2020.
Incidentally, Vodafone Idea (Vi) has kicked off a customer engagement drive by asking its mobile phone users to share their feedback on their new network – GIGAnet.
“Vi is encouraging customers to reach out with their feedback through the Vi App. There are exciting and assured delights in the form of great benefits being offered for every feedback received, Avneesh Khosla, marketing director of Vodafone Idea, said.
Vi’s mobile customer base fell to 305.103 million from 309.925 million between June and May 2020.
The mobile subscriber base of Airtel dropped to 316.671 million from 317.800 million during one month.
BSNL’s mobile customer base dropped to 118.216 million from 119.961 million
Reliance Jio’s subscriber base increased to 397.249 million from 392.749 million. Reliance Jio was the only telecom operator to achieve growth during June.
Vi performance in states
Vi could not retain its mobile subscriber base in any of the telecom circle across India. Vi is said to have slashed its capital expenditure due to the shift in its network strategy and the integration between Vodafone and Idea.

Vi’s mobile subscriber base dropped from 3.989 million to 3.892 million in Assam.
Vi’s mobile subscriber base dipped from 13.971 million to 13.652 million in Bihar.
Vi’s mobile subscriber base fell from 16.616 million to 16.417 million in Delhi.
Vi’s mobile subscriber base dropped from 26.169 million to 25.892 million in Gujarat.
