Top landline phone operators in India based on user base in July 2012

Telecom Lead India: The state-run telecom service provider BSNL continues to lead the landline (fixedline) service market with 69 percent share in July 2012.

TRAI on Friday said wireline subscriber base declined to 31.33 million in July 2012 from 31.43 million in June 2012.

Net reduction in wireline subscriber base was 1.01 lakh.

TRAI said the share of urban subscribers has increased to 77.01 percent from 76.92 percent.

Share of rural subscribers has declined to 22.99 percent from 23.08 percent.

 

The overall wireline Teledensity has decreased to 2.58 in July 2012 from 2.59 in June 2012.

Urban and rural Teledensity stand at 6.55 and 0.85 respectively.
